Roman Iacobucci

Roman Iacobucci was born in 1974 in Kitzbuehel, Austria in the heart of the Austrian Alps, the son of an American dad and a Dutch mother.  Roman was exposed to photography from an early age as his father was a professional photographer and he spent countless hours as a kid assisting his father in the darkroom or acting as an assistant on so called “photo safaris”.  At the time he probably wasn’t much use on the set but he feels this time helped him to develop an eye for composition and aesthetics.  During this time his dad taught him what to look for and just as importantly what to exclude when composing a picture.
Roman travelled extensively around the world as a child and always carried a camera with him.  Traveling opened his eyes to the world and gave him an appreciation for different customs and cultures.  He is a firm believer in the saying “Act locally but think globally”.
After deciding business wasn’t for him Roman went through a carpentry apprenticeship and worked as a carpenter until he came to the U.S. in 1999.  In a random act Roman moved to San Francisco in the fall of 2004.  It was a great choice for him as he met his wife and lots of other interesting people during his San Francisco years, including the owners of LOOK Gallery who made him put this together for their web site.  He misses San Francisco.
Today Roman and his wonderful “trophy” wife are living in a one horse town in eastern Oregon.  When not working for the government Roman is exploring the highways and byways of eastern Oregon on his bicycle with his camera.

LOOK Gallery is proud to be showing pieces from his San Francisco years as well as work he and his wife have been doing in Oregon.
